Invoices, time tracking, expenses, and trust accounts.
- Billing OverviewClasp Billing brings invoices, time entries, expenses, flat-rate fees, and trust accounting into one place so you can manage your entire firm's finances without switching tools.
- Create an InvoiceYou can create an invoice from the global Billing section or directly from a case.
- Send and Manage InvoicesAfter creating an invoice, you can send it to the client and track its payment status from the Invoices tab.
- Log a Time EntryTime entries let you record billable hours for work performed on a case.
- Log an ExpenseExpense entries let you record out-of-pocket costs associated with a case — such as filing fees, travel, or printing costs.
- Set Up a Flat Rate FeeFlat rate fees let you charge a fixed price for a defined service — such as a consultation, document review, or court appearance — without hourly billing.
- Trust Account OverviewClasp includes a built-in trust accounting system that lets you manage client funds in compliance with IOLTA and ABA requirements.
- Request Trust FundsWhen you need to collect funds from a client to hold in trust, send a trust request directly from the case.
- Apply Trust Funds to an InvoiceOnce a client has funds in their trust account, you can apply those funds toward an outstanding invoice instead of charging the client again.
- Set Up Trust Auto-ReplenishmentConfigure trust auto-replenishment and request the client's authorization from their contact record.
- Use the TimerClasp includes a built-in timer in the bottom-left corner of the workspace.
- Edit and Delete Time EntriesAfter logging a time entry, you can edit the details or remove it entirely from the case billing record.
- Record a PaymentWhen a client pays an invoice outside of Clasp's online payment flow — by check, wire transfer, or cash — you can manually record the payment directly on the invoice.
- Invoice StatusesEvery invoice in Clasp has a status that reflects where it is in the payment lifecycle.
- Billing SettingsBilling Settings is where you configure workspace-wide billing defaults, including your billing address, payment terms, invoice numbering, and currency.
- Set a Default Hourly RateSetting a default hourly rate saves time by pre-filling the rate on new time entries, so you don't have to enter it manually each time.
