Set Up Trust Auto-Replenishment
Trust Auto-Replenishment keeps a contact's trust account funded without manual intervention. When the balance falls below the minimum threshold you configure, Clasp automatically charges the client's stored payment method to bring the account back up. This eliminates the need to send manual trust fund requests and ensures your retainer stays healthy at all times.
To set up Trust Auto-Replenishment:
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- Configure Trust Auto-Replenishment.
- Set the Minimum Balance Threshold and any Replenishment Delay.
- Click Save Settings.
Warning: Review the client's payment details first. The client must have a saved payment method on file. Clasp will charge that method automatically when the balance falls below the threshold — confirm this is acceptable before enabling.
Request client authorization
Only the client can enable Auto Replenish in their Client Portal. To ask them:
- Open the client's contact record.
- Under Payment Details, click Request Auto Replenish.
The client receives a request to enable Auto Replenish. They need a saved payment method and must confirm in the Enable Auto Replenish consent dialog in their portal.
Payment Details shows Contact enabled Auto Replenish as Enabled or Disabled. The request button is disabled when Auto Replenish is already enabled. On the contact record, use this button rather than looking for a second request action in the Trust Account panel.
