Case Stages
Case stages track the current phase of a case from start to finish.
What case stages are
Case stages are configured per practice area and appear as a color-coded dot in the Case Properties right rail. Each practice area can have its own sequence of stages. Common examples include Intake, Discovery, Mediation, Settlement, Trial Prep, and Closed. When you open a case, the current stage is visible at a glance alongside other key details.
Move a case to a different stage
You can change a case's stage at any time as work progresses.
Open the case.
Click the Stage field in the right rail.
Select the new stage.
The case updates immediately. The new stage is reflected across the workspace, including the main Cases list.
Stage templates
When a case changes stage, Clasp can automatically create tasks from a Case Stage Task Template. Admins configure these templates so that moving a case to a specific stage generates the default tasks your firm needs for that phase. This keeps your team aligned on what comes next.
Note: Stage templates must be configured by an Admin in Settings > Practice Areas.
Tip: Filter and sort the Cases list by stage to see where all your active cases stand at a glance.
