Roles and Permissions
Clasp uses three firm-member roles to control access to cases, settings, billing, and team management.
Super Admin
Super Admins have full access to the workspace. They can manage team members, all settings, and billing.
Invite, edit, and remove firm users
Manage workspace and organization settings
Manage workspace billing and trust settings
Access banking and all billing admin actions
Configure Cases, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, and Clasp Drive
Enable features in the feature library
Access Administration settings (Intake, Forms, Accounting, Reports)
Admin
Admins manage workspace configuration and billing operations. They cannot access Super Admin-only settings such as firm-user management and workspace billing.

Access Administration settings (Intake, Forms, Accounting, Reports)
Access billing and banking modules and perform admin actions such as finalizing invoices, recording payments, approving time entries, and managing transfers
Edit personal settings
Cannot invite, remove, or edit firm users
Cannot access workspace or workspace billing settings
Firm User
Firm Users handle case work and have limited billing actions scoped to their assigned cases. They cannot access workspace settings or team management.
Access cases, documents, tasks, and calendar
Create draft invoices on assigned cases
View case-tagged transactions and request disbursements
Edit personal settings (profile, security, privacy, notifications, preferences, connected accounts, integrations)
Cannot access workspace settings or administration settings
Cannot access the Billing and Banking modules
Cannot manage firm users
Clients are contacts who access the client portal. They are not firm users and do not have workspace access.
Who can change roles
Only Super Admins can invite, remove, or change the role of a firm user. Super Admins cannot remove themselves or the only remaining Super Admin.
