Settings & Admin

Roles and Permissions

Clasp uses three firm-member roles to control access to cases, settings, billing, and team management.

Super Admin

Super Admins have full access to the workspace. They can manage team members, all settings, and billing.

  • Invite, edit, and remove firm users

  • Manage workspace and organization settings

  • Manage workspace billing and trust settings

  • Access banking and all billing admin actions

  • Configure Cases, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, and Clasp Drive

  • Enable features in the feature library

  • Access Administration settings (Intake, Forms, Accounting, Reports)

Admin

Admins manage workspace configuration and billing operations. They cannot access Super Admin-only settings such as firm-user management and workspace billing.

  • Configure Cases, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, and Clasp Drive settings

  • Access Administration settings (Intake, Forms, Accounting, Reports)

  • Access billing and banking modules and perform admin actions such as finalizing invoices, recording payments, approving time entries, and managing transfers

  • Edit personal settings

  • Cannot invite, remove, or edit firm users

  • Cannot access workspace or workspace billing settings

Firm User

Firm Users handle case work and have limited billing actions scoped to their assigned cases. They cannot access workspace settings or team management.

  • Access cases, documents, tasks, and calendar

  • Create draft invoices on assigned cases

  • View case-tagged transactions and request disbursements

  • Edit personal settings (profile, security, privacy, notifications, preferences, connected accounts, integrations)

  • Cannot access workspace settings or administration settings

  • Cannot access the Billing and Banking modules

  • Cannot manage firm users

Clients are contacts who access the client portal. They are not firm users and do not have workspace access.

Who can change roles

Only Super Admins can invite, remove, or change the role of a firm user. Super Admins cannot remove themselves or the only remaining Super Admin.
