Contact Groups
Contact groups are organization-wide labels you create once and apply to any number of contacts. They help you filter and segment your contact list quickly across your entire firm. Each group has a name and a color so you can visually identify contacts at a glance.
What are contact groups?
Contact groups are shared labels you assign to contacts โ for example, "VIP Clients," "Opposing Counsel," or "Expert Witnesses." You create them once and apply them to any contact in your firm. Groups appear on contact records and in list filters, making it easy to scan for relationships and roles.
Create a contact group
You can create a new group from the Contacts page.
Go to Contacts.
Click the group management option near the filter controls.
Click Add Group.
Enter a Name.
Select a Color.
Click Save.
Assign a contact to a group
Go to Contacts.
Open the contact you want to update.
Click the Group field.
Select one or more groups.
Click Save.
Filter contacts by group
Go to Contacts.
Click the Filter controls above the contact list.
Select a Group from the available options.
The list updates to show only contacts in that group.
Edit or delete a group
You can rename a group or change its color at any time. To update or remove a group, go to Contacts and open the group management area. Renaming a group updates the label on all assigned contacts immediately. Deleting a group removes the label from every contact but does not delete the contacts themselves.
Use contact groups alongside case assignments to quickly find all contacts of a specific type across your firm.
